Michael Smith, the son of WWII Congressional Medal of Honor Winner Herald Smith, serves his country in the Vietnam War. A Marine Gunnery Sergeant, Michael’s Swiftboat is out on patrol one night when he is captured by an unexpected enemy. He is asked to join a higher cause, the salvation of the human species! Now Michael must choose to forsake his life on earth along with his family and friends in order to save their future!

Michael Smith finds himself orbiting the solar system on the Helios, the flagship of the Atlantean-Alliance, which is commanded by Zeus, the King of the Gods. Training for a special mission on earth, Michael displays an exceptional talent for Gunnery which leads him to achieve a unique status, and also find love working alongside the beautiful Goddess Athena. 

Aboard the spaceship Helios, Michael Smith is tasked with developing the Gunnery Corps to defeat the alien Korantians who are seeking to control earth. He undertakes this, even as he prepares for his mission on earth with Athena. He also seeks permission from Hera to marry the love of his life, only to discover that the requirements of Procreation Duty take precedence over individual freedom. Because of this, an agonizing love triangle develops for him. Meanwhile, a subversive enemy plots his destruction. 

  Michael Smith makes a new life for himself on the Helios while training to return to earth to undertake a critical earth mission with the Goddess Athena. As his training winds down he finds himself both newly married and facing fatherhood. Then a devastating tragedy strikes which disables him. Faced with Michael’s unavailability for his mission, and his Gunnery Master responsibilities, Commander Zeus does everything in his power to restore him to his duty.

 Michael Smith, Athena, and Zeus have left the Atlantean Mothership Helios aboard the Recovery ship Caledon for their earth mission. Decelerating to re-enter normal space at the L4 Lagrange point, Michael and Athena have been assigned to Gunnery duty to face a re-entry ambush. In the entire history of the rebellion, no ship, either Atlantean or Korantian, had ever survived an ambush! Facing his first real space battle with the lives of everyone on the ship in jeopardy, Michael knew he could not afford to fail!

  As Michael Smith and Athena are being transported to earth on the Atlantean Recovery ship Caledon they are called upon to face one more space battle. The Atlantean Scout ship Janus is in peril. Michael has been put aboard the Landing ship Cassius along with Aphrodite to undertake a rescue operation. Soon, Michael will find himself involved in a boarding operation where for the first time he will face the Korantians in a one-to-one fight and be called upon to fight with a sword in his hands!

 Michael Smith and Athena have gone to Glynco, Georgia to begin the first leg of their training to infiltrate the Secret Service through the Federal Law Enforcement Training Course. They are joined on earth by a team of Atlanteans who are undertaking operations vital to the rebellion. Their personal relationship is strained as they are kept apart during training. Unbeknownst to them, the Korantians have placed a Harrapan agent in their Secret Service training group. This enemy agent threatens to uncover and expose Michael and Athena, and their plans! 

  Michael Smith and Athena complete their training for the Secret Service in Laurel Maryland at the James J. Rowley Training Center. They maintain their romantic relationship as they juggle their mission, careers, and personal lives. Athena confronts the Harrapan agent planted to kill the President. They graduate and qualify for the POTUS detail of President Bill Clinton. Here, their Secret Service teams are tasked by a number of threats to the President, the last of which puts Athena’s and Michael’s lives in dire peril at the hands of the Korantians themselves!

  Michael Smith must rescue Athena. She is being held captive on Christmas Island at a secret Korantian earth base. The rescue leads to a major battle. Afterwards, the couple returns to the Mothership Helios. Here, Michael lays out his plans which are designed to bring about the defeat of the Korantians and secure the freedom of the human species! First though, they must root out some suspected Korantian spies. Until the spies are uncovered, the Atlantean-Alliance will not be able to implement Michael’s plans and achieve victory! 

Using the wedding of Athena and Michael Smith as a pretext, the Atlantean-Alliance assembles its entire Fleet of Motherships in preparation for an offensive to defeat the current Korantian Forces, both on earth, and orbiting in the vicinity. Michael is assigned to visit the other Motherships to train their Gunners. In doing so, he encounters Zeus’ other daughter, the Goddess Artemis, who falls in love with him. He also becomes revered amongst the Nazcans. Athena and Michael’s wedding plans go awry when Artemis asks to be included in their wedding! This results in her jealous brother, Apollo, plotting to kill Michael!

Michael Smith and Athena have their Atlantean Wedding. Afterwards, the first step in the implementation of Michael Smith’s plan to save humanity occurs. The Atlantean-Alliance begins an offensive to defeat the enemy Korantians who are currently on earth and in orbit around the planet. Michael and Athena are parted as she takes all of his children to earth. Commander Zeus agrees to take a desperate measure to ensure victory. Meanwhile, the Korantians have begun implementing Sayatin’s strategy to stymie the rebellion in anticipation of the arrival of their Colonization Fleet.
